PM Najib is mulling corporate tax cuts and the possibility of a budget surplus over the medium term. Najib said introducing lower corporate tax regime in the future will ensure companies have more income for reinvestment to grow their businesses. Malaysiacorporate tax is currently (Oct 2012) at 25%, similar to Indonesia which Singapore’s rate is at 17% and Hong Kong is at 16.5%.
